Hello.
This page is a self-service guide for all those planning to have a photographer at their wedding. I created this page to explain what I do for my couples and how the day process goes. Of course, ask me questions; I want you to be 100% comfortable and ready for your big day.
Booking Me
The first step in booking me as your photographer is to make sure I am available on your wedding date. Once we have marked you on the calendar, I ask all couples to make a 20% booking fee from their total value. This deposit ensures you and me that this day is yours. Once the booking date is locked in and the service agreement is signed, we can discuss the day. I recommend meeting in person or over a zoom call, where we can see each other's faces.
Engagement Session
An engagement session is a perfect way for you to get ready to be photographed on your wedding day. It's also the start of your story with my cameras. If you decide to have an engagement session, we will embark on a location that matches your personality. I have lots of google map pins to fit anything from Nature to Urban looks. I also have a mobile studio for a more traditional look with white and black backdrops.
Getting Ready
Getting ready is the rush and chaos time at all weddings. You are focusing on so many things, and people are asking you a million questions. For me, it's the perfect time to capture candids and details of what you will be wearing. I ask all couples to have their clothing together with all details to photograph them. I usually hang dresses, so be sure to have a nice hanger. Remember to breathe and enjoy yourself; everything will be fine.
First look / First Touch
The "first look or "first touch" is something new to weddings. Its wear the bride chooses to see your husband or father fully dressed for the first time or to pass a note, touch hands before the ceremony. It's an excellent opportunity to get some wonderful emotional pictures, but it's not for everyone. Some still like the WOW feelings seeing each other down the aisle.
Ceremony
During the ceremony, I start from the front of the aisle and work my way to the back. I keep my cameras on silent mode, so you dont to hear my shutter going off a million times. I focus on everything and do my best to document every moment until you guys "first kiss".
Formals
After the ceremony, we will start family and friends' formal portraits. Portraits are usually taken where you were married. I ask all couples to have a list sent to me before the wedding or prepare at the wedding. It's IMPORTANT to let the people who are being photographed stay behind and wait after the ceremony; if everybody leaves, it’s like herding cattle trying to get everyone back.
Bridal party shots will happen after the family formals. I start with photographing the bride and the bridal maids, then the groom and the groom's men. Once both groups are photographed, we will combine both groups for 2 to 3 poses. If you want individual portraits with you and your bridal party, let me know when we plan the timeline before the wedding day.
Shoot Time: 15 mins to 30 mins
Couples Photos
Now that all the group photos are taken, everyone should be at cocktail hour. We will now start your portraits. I ask all couples to be prepared, make sure you know when sunset is if we are photographing in the evening, make sure you have transportation to any distant locations and my brides, bring some flat shoes for walking.
Shoot Time: 15 minutes to 30 minutes
Party Time
The Reception! Now you can relax, eat, drink and dance the night away. During this time, I will be photographing groups on the dance floor, details around the reception, and candid moments of you and guests.
EXIT
For the exit, some couples like to do sparklers or glow sticks. Whatever you choose, the images from this always come out stunning. The exit is something you will have to plan with the venue or your coordinator.
After The Wedding
After the wedding, when I get back home, I back up the photos twice, just in case something happens like a hard drive crashes. Your pictures will be safe with me. It usually takes 2 - 3 weeks to edit all the images from your day, but I started to edit four pictures the same night and text them to both of you to post them on your social media accounts. Once the photos are all edited, I will send you both a mail out with the link to your online album, a USB with your images, and anything else you ordered with your package.
THANK YOU
Cant wait to be your photographer! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ANY questions.
